Meet Emma
What made you start teaching fitness/at FlowCorps?
At the start of my sophomore year of college I decided I was going to train for a half marathon but in the midst of training my knee pain started to flare up. I had heard only amazing things about pilates and injury recovery so I decided to give it a shot, specifically Flowcorps! The fell in love with Flowcorps and the community after my first class! After a few months of taking classes, an instructor encouraged me to reach about becoming an instructor and the rest is history!
What is your favorite part of teaching?
My favorite part about teaching is meeting each and every person that comes to class and getting to be involved in not only their fitness journey but get to know them outside of Flowcorps! It would be wrong to not mention making playlists because that is the highlight of my week when I get to make a new playlist for class!
What is your favorite exercise & why?
My favorite exercise is hamstring curls off the front platform! I love the slow burn that builds up and how I feel after!
What is your teaching style?
My teaching style is fun and lighthearted but challenging! It makes my heart happy during class when a move lands right on the beat so I play music that is going to encourage you and keep you in the flow for the whole class! In my class you are going to get 110% from me and we will all move together to the beat!
What would a typical playlist of yours include?
A typical playlist of mine depends on the day and the new music that has come out that week! I love to bounce all over the place so I use a wide variety of artists and genres with all upbeat tempos! Playlists could include pop, fun remixes, rap, house music, EDM, R&B, and you can't forget throwback songs! I am always open to suggestions of your favorite songs to include in class!
