Meet Jayne
What made you start teaching fitness/at FlowCorps?
After committing 15 years of my life to competitive cheerleading, I felt lost trying to find a fitness routine that was sustainable after college. A friend suggested I try yoga and after many months of saying "no thank you, yoga is just stretching," I finally gave it a shot and I realized I was so wrong and hooked immediately. I love the feelings of strength, grounding and playfulness yoga brings me and shortly after I decided it was time to complete my 200 hour YTT certification.
What is your favorite part of teaching?
My favorite part of teaching yoga is making my students listen to my playlists for an hour. Just kidding... kind of... I love seeing students moving in ways that feel good, challenge themselves just enough, and most of all have fun in my classes.
What is your favorite exercise & why?
I am a sucker for a balancing half moon. Chances are you will be doing one of these in my class.
What is your teaching style?
When I first started teaching yoga (5 years ago now, I was taught to "command, with a hug." It has stuck with me ever since.
What would a typical playlist of yours include?
Jayne's ideal playlist has a mix of indie rock, cottagecore (as Spotify tells me?), 90s rap, with a hint of old school rock. Chances are you will enjoy.
