Meet Jenni
What made you start teaching fitness/at FlowCorps?
Coming from a background in strength and conditioning I never thought I would end up teaching a reformer pilates class. My experience was full of loud weights hitting the floor, rock music pounding in ears, and athletes dripping in sweat. However, teaching at FlowCorps has brought a whole new meaning to “flow state” and has complimented my coaching style in a remarkable way.
What is your favorite part of teaching?
My favorite part of teaching is watching clients honor their bodies in its current state. I love holding a space where clients feel confident in taking the modifications they need or challenging themselves by leveling up. There is nothing more satisfying than watching a client become more confident in class and start to make it their own.
What is your favorite exercise & why?
My favorite exercise is a front platform lunge. There are so many ways to make this move more challenging or to modify it in a way that fits your needs in that day and time. The variations are limitless, and I love making it feel like a dance rather than a challenging exercise.
What is your teaching style?
My teaching style could be described as tempo-based, dancy, and maybe a few too many puns. Using the music to drive movement is something I strive to accomplish in each class to help it fly by in a fun way. You can expect thorough set ups and cues along the way and you’ll probably be sent out with an update on what the weather is doing in that current moment.
What would a typical playlist of yours include?
In my class you will hear a lot of girly pop along with some big 2000s hits. I love a good remix to older hits, but not the kind that breaks your ear drums. You’ll be sure to get Ariana Grande, Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, Tove Lo and some fun vibey hits mixed in."
