Meet José

What made you start teaching fitness/at FlowCorps?

After years of impact on my body as a pole vaulter, I wanted to find a softer way to train that still made me feel like an athlete. I took my first Pilates class in 2018 and cried at the end of it; it was the first time I had trained my body without pain in eight years. I bought an unlimited membership right away and started teaching a year later.

What is your favorite part of teaching?

Teaching fitness is the joy and privilege of my life. Seeing athletes unlock their potential through diligent, patient, and consistent training is the most rewarding thing imaginable.

What is your favorite exercise & why?

You can expect long movements, tight transitions, and sensation-based cueing in my class. My favorite move to teach is Power Lunge; it's supportive, effective, and intensely challenging.

What is your teaching style?

My class is enveloping and embodied. I believe that everything you need is already within you. I'll push you to the perimeter of your body's potential and show you what you're capable of.

What would a typical playlist of yours include?

I'm not going to lie; I make a great playlist. My music is evocative, immersive, and slick — an invitation to let the beat control your body. You'll feel like you're at the rave while listening to the best dance music imaginable.
