Meet Madison
What made you start teaching fitness/at FlowCorps?
I started teaching at FlowCorps after moving from NYC to Chapel Hill. Having worked at various Pilates studios in the city, I was elated to find FlowCorps. Growing up, I played volleyball and have been an athlete my entire life. After I stopped playing volleyball in college, I felt lost without the routine until I discovered Pilates. My passion for it deepened even more when I found FlowCorps. Pilates has been my go-to for rehabbing multiple injuries. Just a couple of months after taking classes there, I started teaching, and I wouldn't trade it for the world.
What is your favorite part of teaching?
Teaching fitness is one of the greatest privileges I've ever had. I love being the highlight of someone's day. Movement is my safe haven and release, and sharing that with others brings me immense joy.
What is your favorite exercise & why?
My favorite exercise is definitely the side-lying leg sweep. Firstly, you get to lie down, and secondly, it works the glutes and hamstrings HARD. Your entire body is engaged, and it’s the perfect moment to close your eyes and flow to the beat.
What is your teaching style?
My teaching style is fun, focused, experience-driven, and encouraging. You’ll hear me crack jokes and see me dancing regularly. But, I'll also push you to challenge yourself and support you every step of the way.
What would a typical playlist of yours include?
If there's one thing I pride myself on, it’s making killer playlists. You’ll hear a mix of house, 90’s & early 2000’s throwbacks, pop, and a sprinkle of indie rock and rap.
Some of my favorite artists include FISHER, Dom Dolla, Lana Del Rey, Arctic Monkeys, 50 Cent, Aluna, Charli XCX, and Rihanna.
