Meet Melissa
What made you start teaching fitness/at FlowCorps?
I became a coach at Flowcorps because I loved the concept of combining the unique work on the Xformer with Functional Movements. It is a unique way of training that builds strength while supporting a healthy range of motion. The unique qualities of the Xformer also allow me to train all different bodies and fitness levels, so that each client is able to feel both challenged and successful during their workout.
What is your favorite part of teaching?
My favorite part of coaching is when I am able to help a client move past a hurdle and understand their body on a deeper level.
What is your favorite exercise & why?
If I had to choose a favorite movement, it would be Mermaid. I love the way it targets the entire side body while allowing for natural movement of the spine. It feels so good!
What is your teaching style?
My teaching style is very hands-on and detailed. I want you to understand exactly why we are doing each exercise and what you should be feeling. If you don't feel it, ask! I love to workshop movements with clients as well.
What would a typical playlist of yours include?
My favorite artist is P!nk, but I like to keep a mix of EDM, Pop, Rock, and Hip-Hop in my playlists. Every once in a while I find a way to sneak in a throwback, just to keep things fun!
