Meet Summer

What made you start teaching fitness/at FlowCorps?

I began taking classes at FC a little over two years ago and fell in love with it. I looked up to the current instructors and even became friends with some of them, which influenced my decision to start teaching. I vividly remember Erica, one of the instructors, sharing in a class how life is always on the go, and we're rarely encouraged to slow down and enjoy it. That idea resonated with me deeply. Pilates introduced the slowness and mindfulness that I needed, which contrasted really great with the hustle of my life as a full-time real estate agent.

What is your favorite part of teaching?

I love meeting new people of all ages and seeing familiar faces every week. Developing relationships with my clients is incredibly rewarding. Another aspect I enjoy is witnessing the transformation of clients—seeing someone who starts with no experience progress to looking like a pro in a few weeks makes me so happy. It's truly fulfilling to see others thrive in this space.

What is your favorite exercise & why?

My favorite exercise is definitely the side-lying leg press. It's fantastic for glute development, and I love that you get to lie down while doing it. It's a perfect combination of challenge and comfort.

What is your teaching style?

My teaching style is upbeat, with lots of fun and challenging variations. I enjoy introducing new exercises into my classes and encourage people to do what feels best for them, offering ways to level up if they feel ready. I love incorporating power rounds when the beat allows because it feels amazing when the timing is just right!

What would a typical playlist of yours include?

I love music, so I include a variety of genres in my classes. Generally, I stick to upbeat hip-hop remixes with lively beat drops. However, for the final stretch song, I choose something that allows my clients to connect emotionally and slow down. I aim for a song that helps them connect with their feelings, creating a powerful and reflective end to the session.
